【摘要】:Withtheadventofthick,highlyangledaircrafttransparencies,multipleimaginghasbeenmorefrequentlycitedasanopticalproblembypilots.Secondaryimages(ofoutsidelights),oftenvaryinginintensityanddisplacementacrossthewindscreen,cangivethepilotdeceptiveopticalcuesofhisaltitude,velocity,andapproachangle,increasinghisvisualworkload.Currentspecificationsformultipleimagingintransparenciesarevagueandnotquantitative.Typicalspecificationsstatex201C;multipleimagingshallnotbeobjectionable.x201D;Theangularseparationofthesecondaryandprimaryimageshasbeenshowntorelatetothepilot''sacceptabilityofthewindscreen.Thisprocedureprovidesawaytoquantifyangularseparationsoamoreobjectiveevaluationofthetransparencycanbemade.Itmaybeusedforresearchofmultipleimaging,quantifyingaircrewcomplaints,orasthebasisforwindscreenspecifications.Itshouldbenotedthatthebasicmultipleimagingcharacteristicsofawindscreenaredeterminedearlyinthedesignphaseandarevirtuallyimpossibletochangeafterthewindscreenhasbeenmanufactured.Infact,aperfectlymanufacturedwindscreenhassomemultipleimaging.Foraparticularwindscreen,cautionshouldbetakenintheselectionofspecificationcriteriaformultipleimaging,astheinherentmultipleimagingcharacteristicsmayvarysignificantlydependinguponwindscreenthickness,material,orinstallationangle.Anytolerancesthatmightbeestablishedshouldallowforinherentmultipleimagingcharacteristics.1.1Thistestmethodcoversmeasuringtheangularseparationofsecondaryimagesfromtheirrespectiveprimaryimagesasviewedfromthedesigneyepositionofanaircrafttransparency.Angularseparationismeasuredat49pointswithina20by20x00B0;fieldofview.Thisproceduremaybeperformedonanyaircrafttransparencyinalaboratoryorinthefield.However,theprocedureislimitedtoadarkenvironment.Laboratorymeasurementsaredoneinadarkenedroomandfieldmeasurementsaredoneatnight.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.2.1Exception8212;Thevaluesinparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandardmayinvolvehazardousmaterials,operations,andequipment.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
