【摘要】:Thedeterminationofhydrocarbonimpuritiescontainedintolueneandmixedxylenesusedaschemicalintermediatesandsolventsistypicallyrequired.Thistestissuitableforsettingspecificationsandforuseasaninternalqualitycontroltoolwherearomaticmonocyclichydrocarbonsareproducedorareused.Thistestmethodisapplicablefordeterminingtheimpuritiesfromthearomatichydrocarbonproductionprocess.Typicalimpuritiesarealkanescontaining1to10carbonatoms,benzene,toluene,ethylbenzene(EB),xylenes,andaromatichydrocarbonscontainingninecarbonatoms.RefertoTestMethodsD3797,D3798,andD4492fordeterminingthepurityofo-Xylene,p-Xylene,andbenzene,respectively.RefertoTestMethodD6563fordeterminingtheC8aromatichydrocarbondistributioninmixedxylenes.Purityiscommonlyreportedbysubtractingthedeterminedexpectedimpuritiesfrom100.00.However,agaschromatographicanalysiscannotdetermineabsolutepurityifunknownorundetectedcomponentsarecontainedwithinthematerialbeingexamined.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthetotalnonaromatichydrocarbons,andtracemonocyclicaromatichydrocarbonsinthepurityoftolueneandmixedxylenesbygaschromatography.1.2Nonaromaticaliphatichydrocarbonscontaining1through10carbonatoms(methanethroughdecanes)canbedetectedbythistestmethodatconcentrationsrangingfrom0.001%to2.500weight%.1.2.1Asmallamountofbenzeneinmixedxylenesmaynotbedistinguishedfromthenonaromaticsandtheconcentrationsaredeterminedasacomposite.1.3Monocyclicaromatichydrocarbonimpuritiescontaining6through9carbonatoms(benzenethroughC9aromatics)canbedetectedbythistestmethodatindividualconcentrationsrangingfrom0.001%to1.000weight%.1.4Indeterminingtheconformanceofthetestresultsusingthismethodtoapplicablespecifications,resultsshallberoundedoffinaccordancewiththerounding-offmethodofPracticeE29.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
